Dear Steve,
My name is Mark Webb and I am also a LMFT. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your newsletter. You are very generous with helpful direction in straight forward language.  I haven't seen a newsletter as helpful.  Most of them are fluffy or they only seem to bait you. Keep up the good work and Best of Wishes,

Relationship Secrets from Steve Roberts

People come to me and complain about ineffective communication. Students in school with other students and teachers, workers struggling with the boss or fellow workers, couples, both married and not. They all experience the confusion and hurt of misunderstandings, manipulations, and good intensions gone awry.

I almost always find that the real problem is not that “we don't communicate well,” but that we do not listen well. Hence, this report. Perhaps I can cut back on the learning curve with this easy to follow information.

This is not rocket science. Most of this we were taught back in kindergarten. Be kind. Listen to who is speaking. Hold hands when someone feels hurt.

BUT, if it is so simple, WHY do people not actually do it? Like so much in life it is really quite simple but it just isn't easy. Why? One word: FEAR. We fear getting hurt. We fear being manipulated. And, we fear that we will not receive what we desperately need.

Fear. Unfortunately, that's a big topic for another report. At this point, just be aware that you will hit stuck spots in your listening and it is about your or another's fear.

You'll get more on all of this in the following pages. But for now, turn the page to the promised Quick Start Guide, and let's get started!

PS No, this report contains no religious language. It's just basic people skills. Nonetheless, most spiritual traditions have deep respect for those peaceful souls who have developed the wisdom to say little and listen much.

  • Learn how to build strong, lasting relationships
  • Discover the secrets for turning conflict into a successful negotiation
  • Communicate with clarity
  • Get relationship tips answering questions you didn't know to ask

(*** this report is finished and ready to go, but I haven't had time to set up the download procedure. It's coming soon!)

What others say about Steve's help:

I can safely credit Steve Roberts with helping to keep my marriage and family intact to this day.

The new perspectives you help me find are so valuable, words fail me...  I love coming to see you, because I always feel refreshed, renewed, and optimistic when I leave.

I can honestly say I do trust one man in this world to tell me the real deal, the truth, and do so with grace, compassion and integrity as a first-class therapist and coach. He has contributed to a change within our family that is generational and will have an impact that will reach far into the future. We know we still have a ways to go. Who doesn’t? Steve is there as a buffer, a realist and source of love that has profoundly affected change in me.
